PAG has a range of global Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) capabilities. This is a brief overview of a starter generator going through an overhaul process. Once a part is received from the customer, it’s unboxed and sent to a receiving inspector.
When the receiving inspection is complete, the inspector creates a work order and sends it to the appropriate repair shop. The Shop Lead assigns the part to a qualified technician who, after completing a preliminary inspection, begins maintenance procedures.
We resurface the armature to give it a fresh contact for brushes. The overhaul process requires several parts to go through NDT non-destructive testing to check for cracks or any kind of defect. We take pride in the appearance of the parts PAG returns to service, and every unit receives a fresh coat of paint.
One of our senior technicians will reassemble the generator and prepare it for testing. Starter generators undergo extensive testing to verify precise results. PAG’s processing department closes out the work order and issues an 8130 Authorized Release Certificate. When the part has been branded, it is sealed and packaged, ready to ship back to the customer to install on the aircraft.
