Alexsander Garcia

Alexsander Garcia began working in aviation in 2007, following in the footsteps of his father, himself a 43-year veteran of the industry. Garcia worked various jobs during his early years in the avionics and instrument side of the business.

In 2009, Icon Aerospace was formed and he joined, working in numerous departments, as a mechanic, technician, painter and more. He would rise through the ranks, becoming general manager, then director of operations, before ultimately being made president when the company was sold.

“They offered me the president position to continue running the business in the same trajectory,” he described.

Garcia said that he finds the complexity of his work captivating – how a part fixed today will ensure an airplane continues to operate for years to come.

“I enjoy working with the instruments and the different types of components. Seeing how the simplest components can interact with various aircraft is one of the complexities I enjoy most,” said Garcia

As president, Garcia has his hands in all aspects of Icon Aerospace’s work but said he tries to stay as involved as he can with the technicians and production personnel to make sure that everything is working efficiently.

“I collaborate with my team to assure that the highest quality work and processes are achieved throughout the organization,” he said.

During his tenure with Icon, the business has been awarded various Top Shop awards for different components that it works on, and Garcia also found time to work towards receiving his master’s degree.
