Meghan Brock
Vice President and General Manager – Trace Aviation, Jackson, MS
A Unique Path into Aviation
Meghan Brock’s journey into the aviation industry was anything but conventional. With a BA in Anthropology from Millsaps College, she initially had little interest in business and spent a year teaching English in China. Meanwhile, her father, Mike Pigott, had just secured FAA Repair Station certification for Trace Aviation, a company specializing in Beechcraft King Air landing gear services.
Upon returning in 2006, Meghan stepped in to help with office operations. Initially assisting with business accounts, parts ordering, and logbook research, she quickly became an integral part of the company’s daily operations and long-term growth.
Building Operational & Service Excellence
As Trace Aviation expanded, Meghan took on responsibilities in hiring, software and system upgrades, and customer service enhancements. Recognizing that superior customer service would set the company apart, she ensured that support from Trace Aviation remained immediate and highly responsive, unlike vendors relying on automated phone prompts.
Meghan prioritizes direct communication, making sure customers can easily connect with technicians, sales, or operations teams. Her hands-on approach includes answering questions from mechanics in the field—even using video calls to assist with installations—ensuring that every customer interaction is both personal and efficient.
Innovating King Air Landing Gear Overhaul
Trace Aviation has long been recognized for its expertise in landing gear removal and installation, and Meghan played a pivotal role in refining these services. She helped with the development of a King Air Landing Gear Exchange Program tailored to each aircraft’s serial number, significantly improving installation efficiency. This innovation allows mechanics to complete installations more quickly and precisely, ultimately saving operators time and money.
Building Long-Term Customer Relationships
The relationships Trace Aviation has built with operators are a point of pride for Meghan. Many customers describe the company’s landing gear as looking “better than new,” and several have remained with Trace Aviation since its early days. This dedication to quality and trust has positioned Trace Aviation as the preferred provider for many operators who rely on the company’s expertise to manage their fleet maintenance.
The Future of Aircraft Maintenance
Looking ahead, Meghan is focused on addressing the challenges associated with aging aircraft components. As landing gear and related parts continue to age, repair costs are expected to rise. In response, Trace Aviation is expanding its in-house repair capabilities to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions for operators. Additionally, Meghan is committed to instilling the company’s legacy of excellence in new employees, ensuring that Trace Aviation maintains the high standards it is known for.
Through acquisition, Trace Aviation became a part of PAG’s Component Services Segment, strengthening its position in the industry and expanding its capabilities to better serve its customers.
