John Wentworth
Vice President & General Manager – PAG Engine Services, Mesa & Pittsburgh
Leading with Expertise, Trust, and Operational Excellence
Aviation Beginnings & Early Career
John Wentworth’s passion for aviation took flight when he enrolled at Bob Jones University, where he pursued a BS in Aviation. His education included earning both a pilot’s license and an A&P certification. However, a medical condition early on prevented him from pursuing a piloting career. Determined to stay in the industry, he pivoted to turbine engine maintenance, earning a Powerplant certification that set the stage for his future success.
John began his career at Textron Lycoming, where he spent 11 years advancing through maintenance, test cell, and customer support roles. He later transitioned into sales management with Allied Signal and Honeywell, gaining experience in both technical operations and business development.
Leadership & Industry Expertise
With a growing reputation in aerospace and aviation MRO services, John moved into leadership roles with Aerosonic, Timken Aerospace, and TransDigm/MarathonNorco Aerospace. In 2015, when Prime Turbines acquired Timken’s Mesa facility, John joined as Director of Sales & Services, overseeing customer relations, sales strategy, and technical support.
In 2021, he was promoted to General Manager, and today, he serves as Vice President & General Manager of PAG Engine Services, overseeing operations in Mesa and Pittsburgh.
Commitment to Customer Service & Operational Excellence
John believes that outstanding customer service begins with strong internal processes and a culture of excellence. “Taking care of customers starts with good habits—how quickly we answer the phone, the quality of our service, and the transparency of our communication,” he says.
He emphasizes that trust is built through reliability, technical expertise, and clear, upfront communication about costs and maintenance planning. At PAG Engine Services, John ensures that clients receive industry-leading technical support and solutions tailored to their specific needs. Whether dealing with scheduled overhauls, hot section inspections, or unscheduled maintenance, his team is dedicated to delivering the highest standards of service.
Major Programs & Industry Impact
John has led multiple high-profile MRO programs, including managing the maintenance of Rocky Mountain Aircraft’s fleet of 32 DHC-6 Twin Otters.
Additionally, under his leadership, Prime Turbines was entrusted with the U.S. State Department’s fleet of 72 T53 engines (UH-1 helicopters), maintaining them for five years before the fleet’s retirement in 2023. The State Department recognized Prime as the top MRO vendor they had worked with—a testament to John’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Leadership Philosophy & Vision for the Future
John’s leadership approach is rooted in building strong relationships, maintaining technical excellence, and fostering a culture of trust and transparency. “It’s not just about winning a contract; it’s about being the provider customers turn to in every situation,” he explains.
He believes that a company’s reputation is built on long-term reliability and the ability to consistently deliver exceptional service.

As Vice President & General Manager of PAG Engine Services, John continues to drive operational excellence and strengthen customer relationships, ensuring the company remains a leader in aviation MRO services. His dedication to the industry and focus on continuous improvement make him an invaluable asset to PAG and the aviation community.
